Middleweight knockout artist and former undisputed 160lbs champion Gennady Golovkin has been busy in negotiations these past few months since his last bout.
His rematch with Canelo Alvarez last year ultimately lived up to the hype again in what was an enthralling battle from start to finish in a bout that Mexican boxer Alvarez ultimately won on points.
Since then, Golovkin’s old network in the US that showed his fights for many years, HBO, announced their decision to leave the boxing business all together for the time being.
This left Golovkin and his promoter Tom Loeffler with some decisions to make as to where the ‘GGG’ fights would be shown on next.
In recent weeks negotiations have been intense and following reports that an agreement could not be reached with ESPN, multiple reporters today have confirmed that Golovkin will have his six fights at least shown on new streaming giant DAZN in the US.
Here’s some of the early reaction to the news:
Gennady Golovkin holds a professional boxing record of 38-1-1-34KO at this time.
