Former world champion Shane Mosley knows a thing or two about the welterweight division having been one of its premier fighting exponents for many a year in the past.
‘Sugar’ has shared the ring with many of the sport’s big names like Mayweather, De La Hoya and Pacquiao and took on all comers against everyone who came his way during his career.
Speaking to members of the press in an open media scrum this week one fight he’d live to see is a unification between welterweight champions Errol Spence Jr and Terence Crawford:
“I think he’s (Crawford) the man. The good fight is going to be if he and Errol Spence fight. That would be a really good fight. They are both evenly matched.”
He added:
“It’s very hard to favor either one because I know both of their mentalities are very strong and they both believe they are going to win. I think Errol Spence has a little more aggression in his mind about this fight because of all the hoopla going on. I believe Crawford believes nobody can beat him and that he’s going to win but I also see that deep will to win in Errol Spence.”
He added:
“It’s a fight I actually want to see. I don’t even know (who will win).”
Crawford is currently undefeated and is WBO champion and Spence is also unbeaten and is IBF champion.
For the time being Spence takes on Mikey Garcia next week in Texas and Crawford takes on Amir Khan next month in New York.
