World Champ Shawn Porter Forced To Take Extreme Measures To Make Weight

WBC welterweight world champion Shawn Porter returns to work tonight against Yordenis Ugas in a fight taking place in Carson.

Ever the professional, Porter no doubt trained hard for tonight’s fight even though he’s expected to come through it comfortably.

But now at 31, making the welterweight limit of 147lbs just isn’t as easy for him as it once was.

Perhaps before his career is out you might even see him fighting at 154lbs after this.

Basically, Porter decided that having a haircut right there and then at the weigh-in venue for his fight would bring him under the limit.

It’s safe to say that he was proved right:

Well, that’s one way to get the job done.

Fair play Shawn Porter for his innovation in boxing weigh-ins there.

One of the sport’s good guys, no doubt he’ll have plenty of support cheering him on tonight in Carson.
