Irishman Jono Carroll literally left it all in the ring in his first world title challenge against IBF super-featherweight champion Tevin Farmer in a bout that Farmer won by unanimous decision on Friday night in Philadelphia.
The class and boxing skills of Farmer proved just a little too much just yet for 26 year Carroll who although suffered his first defeat as a professional, gained a huge amount of respect in defeat due to the spirited performance he chalked in.
His stock will have gone up after this without doubt:
As for Farmer he now moves on to a possible big showdown with Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis after his promoter Eddie Hearn revealed earlier this week would be putting in a huge offer for if Farmer came through the Carroll fight.
The offer is thought to be in the region of $5 million to Davis who is currently signed and promoted by Mayweather Promotions.
