In recent days it has been reported that lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s next opponent will come on June 15th in Las Vegas in the form of undefeated contender Tom Schwarz.
News that has not gone down well with fight fans in fairness.
Particularly after Fury is coming off the back of a classic fight with Deontay Wilder last time out back in December in Los Angeles.
Alas, we will just have to wait a bit longer towards the end of this year for the rematch between the two above names to happen.
Or, for possible fights between Fury and Joshua or Wilder and Joshua depending on how things develop in the coming months in their next fights.
Joshua for his part takes on Jarrell Miller next up and all three of the big three names in heavyweight boxing will have to keep winning to keep this dangerous tight rope going, in terms of trying to make the fights between the three bigger.
Over marinating a fight in the heavyweight division can have disastrous consequences as boxing history has taught us.
One man that has been a little left out in the cold by all this after turning down an Anthony Joshua rematch recently is contender Dillian Whyte.
Speaking to IFL TV, he didn’t mince his words on what he thought about Tyson Fury’s choice of opponent next up:
“It’s f****** b*******. He should be ashamed of himself for fighting Tom Schwarz. You’re lineal heavyweight champion, why are you fighting Tom Schwarz? You say you’ll fight anyone, anytime, anywhere — why you fighting Tom Schwarz?”
Dillian Whyte at this time is currently still waiting to have his next opponent confirmed.
