Fighting the much respected Sergey Lipinets in Oxon Hill, Peterson was TKO’d in a bout that he admitted afterwards was the last of his career.
He made an understandably emotional statement in the ring following the fight.
One that Peterson concluded on in the ring that it was time to hang up the gloves once and for all.
Here’s how it went down:
After the fight here’s what Peterson had to say:
Boxing can be a cruel sport at times but hats of to Lipinets on an impressive win.
As for Peterson, no shame in defeat and a fine career he had overall, without doubt.
One that saw him go further than most in fairness.
Always a tenacious competitor throughout his professional tenure in the sweet science.
All the best in retirement.
