Ryan Garcia notched in another impressive win on Saturday night on in a bout that took him to 18-0 as a professional fighter to date.
Earlier this year it was reported that former pound for pound number one boxer turned promoter Floyd Mayweather offered Garcia a fight against his star fighter, Gervonta Davis.
It was then widely circulated that Mayweather received a cease and desist letter from Garcia’s promoter Golden Boy Promotions — of which the 20 year old boxing prospect is currently under contract with for his pugilistic services.
Following his latest win on Saturday night Garcia had this to say to Mayweather and his associates:
“And also, I wanted to say to the Mayweather camp who keep running their mouth, don’t worry you’ll get your fight (against Gervonta Davis) some day and I will whoop your a** anywhere. Lets do it. I ain’t intimated by Mayweather. Nobody can intimidate me.”
After the fight fellow promotional stablemate and middleweight kingpin Canelo Alvarez revealed he believes Garcia to be the best prospect in world boxing today.
Time will tell if he can live up to such lofty expectations or if a Garcia vs Davis bout can be made in reality.
