The week in boxing has been dominated by a story that never actually took place inside the ring at all.
First, a video surfaced after last weekend showing Bulgarian heavyweight boxer Kubrat Pulev kissing a female reporter in his post-fight interview.
The female reporter then announced at a news conference that she was pursuing him legally for what he did amid other allegations.
Then, a third video surfaced allegedly showing the same female reporter giving a lap dance to a member of Pulev’s team in the presence of Pulev the same night after the original video broke.
The whole thing has turned into a hugely controversial topic and now one of boxing’s leading commentators and pundits, Johnny Nelson of Sky Sports has given his take.
Speaking to Kugan Cassius of IFL TV Nelson said:
“You see what you’ve seen. It’s not like somebody has said it’s second hand information. You see what you see. You know that young lady, women who that have been sexually assaulted, she’s doing them no favors at all. She’s put them back 10, 20 years. Because don’t cry wolf and the next minute you’re dancing near the wolf… At an after party. So obviously she doesn’t seem as shocked or as devastated as what she is now trying to claim because Pulev is sat there and she’s grinding on some man’s lap.”
