Recently MMA star Conor McGregor had a boxing exhibition in his home country of Ireland.
This followed recent news that McGregor had retired from his usual sport of mixed martial arts where he had been competing at the highest level for some time under the UFC promotion.
McGregor before he got into MMA did have an amateur boxing background himsel.
He also has had one sole professional boxing bout to date when he was stopped by Floyd Mayweather back in 2017.
A fight he surprised many in by how well he did and how many punches he landed.
Even winning some rounds against the former pound for pound number one.
This footage from TMZ YouTube (hat tip) shows McGregor back in the boxing ring again and controversially landing what appears to be a cheap shot:
Here’s what his opponent claimed to TMZ following the bout:
The above exhibition bout took place on Good Friday in Crumlin Boxing Club, Dublin, Ireland.
Following news earlier this year that he claims to have retired from MMA one wonders how long it will be before we see McGregor back in a professional boxing ring.
If he does, most likely against long time (at this stage) enemy Paulie Malignaggi.
