Richard Commey defended his IBF world lightweight title in some style on Friday night.
Fighting the veteran champion Ray Beltran, younger champion Commey taught him a boxing lesson in the end.
He scored an 8th round knockout at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula with what can only be described as a peach of a left hand:
Quite the shot.
Although Beltran proved to be game, as he always does in fairness, the younger champion was just too much for him on the night.
Commey now moves on to some potentially interesting fights or even unifications at lightweight if his handlers can make them happen.
The win last night improved Commey’s record to 29-2-26KO.
His only defeats of his professional career at this time coming to Robert Easter Jr and Denis Shafikov thus far.
