WBO middleweight world champion Demetrius Andrade retained his world title this weekend with a unanimous points win over Maciej Sulecki in Providence.
The win extended Andrade’s undefeated record to 28-0-17KO as a pro.
Following the fight he called out Mexican boxing star Canelo Alvarez for a showdown:
Whether Canelo obliges the request remains to be seen but at this point he’s still looking for an opponent.
Something his promoter Oscar De La Hoya and Andrade’s promoter Eddie Hearn have been going back and forth about on Twitter:
All things considering a fight between the two probably would not be hard to make but of course a Golovkin vs Canelo trilogy fight would take precedence if it can be made.
As for Andrade’s fight last night, what a fight.
