WBC heavyweight champion of the world Deontay Wilder is currently gearing up for a rematch with Luis Ortiz later this year but took time out of his busy training camp tonight to attend the Errol Spence vs Shawn Porter title fight in LA.
A bout that saw in the eyes of some, a close and controversial split decision victory going the way of Spence at the Staples Center that saw him now become the unified the WBC and IBF welterweight champion of the world.
When speaking to Fight Hype YouTube (hat tip) afterwards however the heavyweight champion agreed with the way the judges saw it and didn’t see it as controversial:
Wilder should he get past Ortiz later this year is expected to rematch Tyson Fury sometime next February in the US.
Fury recently came through an unexpectedly tough fight and is currently still healing a cut he suffered in the bout.
As for the other big names in the heavyweight division, Andy Ruiz and Anthony Joshua will rematch this coming December in Saudi Arabia.
The winner should expect himself to be in the mix with the likes of Wilder and Fury at some point in 2020.
