A new generation of world championship boxing talent continues to emerge as we come to the close of 2019.
One fight that is building all the time appears to be one between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia.
Certainly a bout that could be made in the future in terms of logistics and fan interest.
20-year-old lightweight WBC champion Haney recorded a unanimous points decision tonight in LA fighting on DAZN to propel his star further.
21-year-old Garcia, also undefeated and whom also fights on the same network as Haney — had this to say about a showdown with his fellow American rival:
Certainly a big fight for the future between two standout young fighters in the sport.
Indeed, next year would be too early and 2021 seems more realistic given the young age of both fighters.
One that no doubt could build into something special provided both men continue to look impressive in 2020 and continue to develop in the pro ranks.
As 2019 draws to a close, more and more of the sport’s top young talent continues to look to break through in what is now proving to be a transitional time for boxing with the champions of the future starting to make names for themselves fight by fight.
