Britain’s Anthony Joshua once again finds himself as the main man in world heavyweight boxing this week having won back his IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight titles this past weekend in Saudi Arabia.
Done so via a convincing points win over less than in shape former champion Andy Ruiz Jr.
Admiteddly, Ruiz conceded after the fight that his preparation had not been up to par for such a large opportunity in his life.
Going into the fight before hand former heavyweight champion George Foreman pointed to Ruiz’ weight on fight week straight away as been a big factor against him.
Indeed, he proved to be right.
Following the fight Foreman has pulled no punches with Ruiz — mentioning to one Twitter user:
With all that being said, the thing is, Ruiz knows he has the ability to mix it and win at the top level now.
He just needs to go back to the drawing work and mainly work on his conditioning and also how to get on the inside of a bigger fighter who looks to keep him on the outside with the jab.
All in all, expect him to be back in the mix at some point but for now — it’s back to the big three of Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder at the top of the heavyweight pile.
