The great Julio Cesar Chavez was in attendance at his son’s Julio Jr’s latest outing in a professional boxing ring this past Friday night in Phoenix.
His reaction to what he saw was indicative of how many fight fans felt.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr has had a history in the sport that has disgruntled many fans.
For many reasons.
He lived up to his controversial image again on a Friday night in a card that was in jeopardy of not even happening in the first place.
Chavez Jr had issues with the Nevada State Athletic Commission but the promoter of the event Eddie Hearn still went ahead with putting him on.
I would have expected better from Eddie.
The whole thing stank and left a bad taste in the mouth.
If a picture paints a thousand words this clip from Chavez’ legendary fighting father says it all.
Chavez Sr Reaction To Chavez Jr Quitting Sums Things Up
Dear oh dear.
It is not quite evident yet as to what Chavez’ future will hold in professional boxing.
It is hard to see, with respect, there being much demand to see him in big fights after another calamity like this.
The positive I suppose that can come from this farcical series of events is that at least Danny Jacobs moves on his professional career.
At least he put himself back in the mix next year for some meaningful fights.
Overall though, with respect, this whole thing stank.
