Boxing fans crave knockouts.
Since the incorporation of the sport and indeed the heavyweight division many years ago fans have always been obsessed with knockouts.
As brutal as they are and for those who really appreciate the sport out there who really appreciate the sweet science, there will always be those just looking to tune in for knockouts and the big hitters.
Its just part of our DNA as humans.
Alas, thankfully, no one was seriously hurt in the contenders for the knockout of the year in most lists this year and from a big fight standpoint — there were plenty to look back on.
The folks at ESPN have narrowed them down to the likes of Devin Haney, Canelo Alvarez, Vasyl Lomachenko and Deontay Wilder.
But the truth is there were much more.
