Middleweight and pound for pound kingpin Canelo Alvarez has long been a target of the UK’s Billy Joe Saunders but the fight has evaded him for one reason or another for some time now.
Alvarez in recent years has cemented himself as the best middleweight in the world and indeed one of the very best pound for pound fighters on Earth it should be said.
He needs a test however and perhaps someone with a slick boxing style is the only type of fighter going to ask him any questions.
Going toe to toe with Alvarez in the past and trading bombs has not proved an effective strategy for most.

Time will tell of Saunders gets the big fight that he’s been chasing for so many years.
It is conceivable that Alvarez may only box once this year and as the biggest star in the sport he calls all the shots on who his opponent will be.
