In recent times, recent meaning the chaotic times the world is going through and for boxing — having no action going on — one big story that has made news involves Floyd Mayweather and Devin Haney.
The story pertains to the former pound for pound number one linking up with the young undefeated Haney as his trainer.
Haney is regarded as a wildly exciting talent in the sport.
Along with his rival Gervonta Davis who is also signed to Mayweather’s promotional company some have suggested that Mayweather might also be looking to sign Haney in the future.
For now however it appears to be a strictly trainer fighter relationship but many have wanted to know how it came about.
Speaking to the folks at Fight Hype YouTube (hat tip) Floyd Mayweather has gone into his motives behind the move:

No doubt Haney will only benefit from the sweet science knowledge of someone like Mayweather.
As for boxing the sport in the United States has now received some positive news via Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum.

His company and team at Top Rank will be putting on live boxing in Las Vegas once again starting on June 9th live.
There will be fight cards expected weekly with an announcement next week.
It is also thought that Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions series could resume live boxing action in July.
