Amir Khan Calls Out 47-Year-Old Oscar De La Hoya

You know, this one at first glance doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to be fair.

Then again, in boxing often times things don’t.

This year has seen the sport like all sports take a back burner but as the year draws to a close more and more talk of fights are rolling around.

Former world champion Amir Khan is most likely on the home stretch of what has been a very entertaining and successful professional boxing career in fairness.

The UK fighter after the Olympics turning pro young, never shying away from challenges — always going after the big names and tough fights.

The result was not an undefeated career but one that will be remembered for being entertaining.

Certainly a lucrative one too.

It looks like he wants one last big name before he’s done.

He never got that Floyd Mayweather fight that he chased so doggedly years ago but in a strange turn of events he’s called out another big name.

His former promoter and up until recently retired Oscar De La Hoya:

Realistically its not something that will probably happen given the fact De La Hoya has been retired so long and is now a promoter.

That said De La Hoya has mentioned he wants to comeback.

No doubt it will drum up some chatter.

In theory, it would make money.

Does De La Hoya or Khan need this kind of money though – time will tell.
