Ireland’s golden girl put on a fine showing this weekend in her rematch with Delfine Persoon at the Matchroom Fight Camp series in London, England.
A rematch of a hard ought battle first time round Taylor left no doubt in the judges’ minds second time round winning by unanimous decision.
Always a mark of an excellent champion — in terms of putting to bed any demons from the first fight by cancelling it out and winning strong in the rematch.
Following the bout the female boxing star has been winning deserved plaudits.
One coming in the form from fellow Irish native and fight star Conor McGregor no less:
After the win Taylor said on Sky Sports TV:
“You can’t relax at all in there against someone like that. She’s always going to come, come and come. Even though I was hitting her with clean shots she was just going to attack all the time. That’s why it’s always going to be a tough fight against someone like her.”
Full respect. Very good.
A credit to herself, women’s boxing and indeed the sport of boxing.
