The ‘Gypsy King’ and lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and fellow champion and rival Anthony Joshua have been exchanging banter a lot in recent years.
Well, the former probably a lot more towards the latter it should be said.
One gets the sense that Anthony Joshua really can’t wait to try land a dig on him at this stage.
That’s heavyweight boxing for you.
For those outside the boxing industry it’s an entertainment based industry for the masses at the end of the day.
The sometimes childish dialogue is just bit of fun ultimately between some of the sport’s characters.
Essentially in what occurs within the modern day Shakespearean theatrical play of social media boxing.
Fury’s latest has got a lot of reaction today.
At this particular time ‘The Gypsy King’ is managed by MTK Global and promoted by Hall of Fame promoters Bob Arum and Frank Warren.
He knows how to sell a fight and senses that perhaps now is the time to make the bout more than ever.
Bottom line is though — Joshua has to come through Bulgarian Kubrat Pulev first next up.
Something Pulev’s handlers think won’t happen.
At the same time, Fury must come through Deontay Wilder in a trilogy fight next up.
That said, perhaps this is now the time behind the scenes to try to sign a Joshua vs Fury fight regardless of the outcomes in both bouts.
Time will tell.
