You know, boxing is one of those sports that can throw up surprise outcomes more than most and perhaps that’s what makes it one of the most special sports of all.
Tonight in Las Vegas’ ‘Bubble’ it did so once again with the emergence of a new star for the sport.
Younger lion and underdog Teofimo Lopez won a unanimous points decision over previously regarded pound for pound top three by some, Vasyl Lomachenko.
Lomachenko is known for being a slow starter but the 33 year old left it very late to get going indeed.
By that time Lopez had wracked up a significant lead on the scorecards which in the end for most saw him run out the deserved winner.
