Age is just a number they say.
If the young fighters breaking through in the sport last year were an inspiration to many in a tough time.
Some of the sport’s older guard are not far behind.
Boxing legend Ray Leonard at the age of 64 has shown on his Instagram account that some of the old hand speed is still there:
Impressive to say the least.
Once a fighter always a fighter.
Leonard these days is far removed from his fight career but still appears in commentary and punditry roles every now and then.
As well a ad hoc motivatoinal speaking and the odd bit of acting he keeps busy.
Leonard held a professional boxing record of 36-3-1 (25 KO).
A champion inside and outside the ring, Leonard captured Olympic Gold for the USA at the Montreal Games in 1976.
He acquired world titles in five different weight classes during his time as a professional fighter.
