It’s fair to say after knocking out Leo Santa Cruz cold last year that undefeated Gervonta Davis is one of the most exciting young fighters in the sport today.
Pound for pound on the move all the time as a result.
But he’ll need to keep that momentum going and will need more big names on the resume to do it this year.
The good news is there are plenty of those out there for him.
No shortage of competition.
Speaking on social media he confirmed the following for 2021:
“I’m fighting twice this year.”
Three would be good but two is solid for now.
All things considering with the world situation.
As long as those two fights are against either world champions or big names in good form, that will do nicely.
The rest is up to him then.
What you might see, as the year unfolds and as the sport gets back on its feet in terms of increased live fan attendance, is some of these young fighters do battle.
It would be electric for growing boxing if this was the case.
Fingers crossed.
