Its been fifty years since two of the sport of boxing’s great heavyweight champions did battle.
For the first time that is.
A match in that many consider the greatest fighter of all time Muhammad Ali actually lost.
Frazier winning by unanimous decision.
An epic engagement at Madison Square Garden.
Proceeded by two more battles years later.
Those battles giving Ali the war. Ultimately with him winning.
2-1 in their three-fight trilogy war.
As you can imagine, being the fifty-year anniversary today, the boxing world has been in nostalgic mood:
Very good.
Expect plenty more people talking about it too.
Still one of the best fights in boxing history.
Fifty years to the day. Wow.
Great time to reflect for the entire heavyweight division and look back at where the sport has come since.
