Canelo Alvarez takes on Billy Joe Saunders next up on May 8th.
In recent years Alvarez has become the biggest star in the sport of boxing and widely considered by many as the best pound for pound fighter in the world.
Since suffering defeat to Floyd Mayweather many years ago, Alvarez has come back stronger and vastly improved himself as a fighter.
Something not lost upon some of the legends of the fight game.
Mike Tyson no less said as much on a social media Q and A recently:
“Yeah I think he stands out alone. He learned so much from that Floyd Mayweather fight. He’s going to wind up undefeated. I’d like to see him fight that Charlo guy. It’s going to be a good fight. I don’t think that (Charlo) guy is strong enough but he’s not afraid, he’s smart, he’ll put up a good fight. Whatever happens happens.”
He added:
“That’s going to be an interesting fight but it’s going to be a knockout. It ain’t going the distance.”
Charlo certainly a good fight but Alvarez will need to get through Saunders first whom has the boxing style to ask plenty of questions of the Mexican champion.
