Appropriate Balance Needed In Boxing Legends Returning

Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr seems to have invoked a new trend of boxing legends making comebacks in recent times.

Here’s the thing.

That’s all well and good until one of these boxers gets injured.

If they are exhibitions and done in the right spirit that’s great. Fair play.

Tyson vs Jones turned out to be excellent safe entertainment. That delivered for millions of people.

Here’s the catch.

If some of these old boxing legends of the past don’t do the fights as exhibitions. Say they are done as real fights.

That’s where the problem is.

One would suggest to some of these boxing legends to not believe all the hype. Think carefully about their health. Health is your wealth.

Money and fame isn’t everything. A load of bull that you can’t take with you after death.

Don’t believe all the false promises out there with what is being generated. Mike Tyson has individual commercial value unlike very few boxers.

It’s about the individual at the end of the day.

Some biblical bits below that may be of use in this regards. With the respectful premise, each to their own beliefs.

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was making people believe he isn’t real. He once was an angel cast out of heaven for becoming too prideful. Being too prideful, egotistical or arrogant only ever leads humans to eternal destruction in the end. Whatever your beliefs or whatever way you look at it.

Perhaps some of these boxing legends of the past are being tempted to come out of retirement based on ego.

Being reminded of the glory days of the past.

If the devil reminds you of the past remind him of his future.

He’s never allowed back into the Kingdom of God again. No way. He knows where he’s going at the end. God’s will cannot be undone.

The devil and his demons, or whatever your perception of evil is, is crafty. Sure. But ultimately, overrated against God. Simple. Test these evil spirits and use discernment. Their mask will eventually slip. They will show you who they really are over time.

People reveal themselves to you over time. It was always the way. It all comes out in God’s wash at the end. Don’t worry about that. Jesus Christ and team good guys win at the end. God is the only thing to fear.

Another good Bible quote here:

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me.”

While we are all for these boxing legends doing whatever they want, who are we to judge anyone. There needs to be balance before one of them gets hurt.

The appropriate regulators need to make sure these are not actual real fights. These authorities need to ask themselves the right questions here.

Certainly if the boxers are way past their age sell by date in the ring.

The only exception might be to recently retired fighters like Miguel Cotto and Marquez say.

Even they are doing an exhibition though.

All the American Commissions need to take this seriously and pay attention.

Fighters fight. That’s what they do. They need to be protected from themselves.
