Demetrius Andrade defeated Liam Williams at the weekend to defend his WBO middleweight world title in California.
He won by unanimous points decision.
The victory improved his professional record to 30-0-18 KO.
He also showed great champion behavior afterwards to the brave Williams:
Class act.
Following the fight calls for a possible showdown with super-welterweight champion Jermell Charlo arose.
That would involved the latter stepping up to fight him later in the year at some point.
The two have got into it on Twitter subsequently:
Strong words from super-welterweight champion Charlo.
It would strike someone that Andrade has found himself in a precarious position for some time now.
An awkward fight style that would give anyone problems but a lack of profile to entice the big names into more meaningful fights.
Charlo for his part is currently scheduled to face Brian Carlos Castano next on July 17th.
