Young Boxer Tragically Dies After Sustaining Brain Injury

The medical side of boxing has come on leaps and bounds in recent decades.

It is still not completely without risk as a sport.

That can be said for any sport however.

Many other sports often have much higher statistics of injuries in them. That should also be noted for balance.

With that being said, some sad news has come into boxing however today in this regard.

It has been confirmed that Jordan boxer Rashed Al-Swaisat has died in hospital.

This follows a week or so on from a brain injury he sustained at the World Youth Amateur Championships in Poland.

He was only 19-years-old.

He required brain surgery after collapsing at the tournament it has been reported.

Rest in peace.

Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends at this difficult time.
