Fighters are competitive individuals by nature. It is part of the their DNA hardwired in them where winning is everything.
Particularly those that become world champions or achieve at amateur level in boxing.
Former champion Lennox Lewis doing both at the very highest level.
Very few to ever do so in terms of Olympic Gold and World Championship honors at professional level.
So, that competitive streak and rivalry is often hard to turn off, understandably.
Even years on, although he beat one rival in the amateurs, he still thinks he ducked him in the professional ranks.

Fighters always want to win at the end of the day.
If you probably got Lewis and Bowe in the same room today, they’d still probably want to fight or nearly get into it.
