Obviously, this isn’t boxing but it involves an active world champion boxer in the form of Claressa Shields.
Shields has become the first boxer ever to attempt to try to become an active world champion in both the sports of boxing and mixed martial arts.
On her debut in MMA she was forced to come back in the fight but got the stoppage win in the end:
Another achievement for a boxer who basically did it all in boxing amateur and professional and now is even having success in another combat sport.
All things considering, quite astonishing what she has been able to do.
Remarkable to be fair. Literally she is making history every day. This stuff she is doing will go down in the history of the fight game for all times. Very young too at 26.
One would hope boxing will be able to bring her back with the pay days she is after in the near future.
She is only getting bigger by the day as time goes on in terms of her star, which, will help women’s boxing long-term.
