Shakur Stevenson returned to action this weekend in Las Vegas in what was the first time a full capacity crowd was allowed in Nevada, the fight capital of the world.
Good. About time.
Stevenson didn’t box to his best to be fair but he did the job and got the win by unanimous decision.
On route to doing so he also scored a knock down in the contest:
Check right hook.
Quality.
Perfect timing.
He went on to get the win on points by shut out improving his professional record to 16-0-8 KO.
Perhaps time for a step up in opponent next as that will bring more interest out of him and motivation.
Often times this is what the best fighters need.
Stevenson surely has potential to go all the way in boxing but needs to be challenged.
