Vasyl Lomachenko of the Ukraine returned to winning ways tonight in Las Vegas with a strong showing.
It was the first time Lomachenko was in the ring since suffering defeat to Teofimo Lopez last October and subsequently recovering from injury after that.
Taking on Masayoshi Nakatani, Lomachenko was a cut above and too good for his opponent.
Early on a clash of heads caused a cut to Lomachenko who seemed more offensive than usual. He found ways to cut the ring down against his bigger opponent with the use of angles and bit by bit, broke him down.
Scoring a stoppage in round five and then closing the show in round 9:
Good to see ‘Hi Tech’ back in the mix. We at BNAV thought he would be back in some style like this. Not surprised.
So many great fights involving him and the young champions and competitors in and around those weight categories that can be made now.
It was the first time Nakatani had been stopped in his professional career.
