The importance of having the correct coach for a specific type of fighter has shown to be true frequently in boxing history.
Boxing fans never really give trainers much credit at all but the job they do, selfless in the amateurs certainly, is unrivalled.
In more ways than one. They are absolutely vital.
If anything goes wrong though, the trainer is the first guy that gets the blame usually. Unfairly in most cases.
A real boxing trainer is everything for a fighter.
Boxing legend ‘Sugar’ Ray Leonard has revealed on Twitter the advice in this regard that the great Muhammad Ali gave him — that was spot on — for him individually:

Different trainers suit different boxers and vice versa.
