It has been reported extensively recently that former multi-weight world boxing champion Oscar De Hoya and former UFC champion Vitor Belfort will compete in a boxing exhibition.
However, this on De La Hoya’s Twitter page suggests it will be a real fight:
Time will tell exactly the outcome and nature of the bout.
Alas, only on fight night itself, fans will have a better understanding of what to expect.
Good luck to both in making a few dollars for themselves, no harm there.
The main thing, again, will be the medical professionals supervising the contest to make sure both fight legends do not incur significant injury.
Given the advanced age of both participants at this time.
On a real professional boxing note, from De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions stable this weekend, Vergil Ortiz Jr. returns.
He fights in Fresno and at 17-0-17 KO is one of the big emerging stars in world boxing at the moment.
Keep an eye out for him this weekend.
Big star in the making.
