Boxing Trainer Recalls One Unsung Pound For Pound Champion Of The World

Texan Terry Norris might not be a big name to some boxing fans but surely was one of the great stories in boxing.

Norris was a three-time world champion in the super-welterweight division.

Boxing trainer Kevin Cunningham (hat tip) made a good point here:

Terry Norris was viciously KO’d in the 2nd round by Julian Jackson. Today’s fickle boxing fans,bloggers and media would’ve wrote him off after that fight. Norris went on to become one of the pound for pound best fighters in the sport. pic.twitter.com/WkIneziNUp

Many boxing fans appear to agree with Cunningham.

Norris was elected into the Boxing Hall of Fame in 2005.
