Leigh Wood’s victory over Mick Conlan at the weekend was an early fight of the year contender.
A back and forth battle that many will have caught up on the highlights of now here:

Interesting wide stance — lower center of gravity from Conlan.
Made it work for him in parts.
With Wood maybe a little too flat footed, certainly in first part of the fight, getting his front foot trapped by Conlan hanging back.
Just waiting for him — at times.
Almost shuffling just a few steps back, here and there, until he saw that front foot of Wood was too far committed inside.
Then bang with the overhand looping left. Great punch.
Big heart from Wood obviously to comeback later in the fight from the knockdowns but kudos to Conlan too coming back from the cut early on.
To battle on then like he did.
Late knock down on Conlan with the glancing left from Wood looked more a slip from Conlan, who maybe got his feet tangled in the pocket.
Brilliant to see both men hammering away at one another with big punches in free flow in a toe to toe battle near the end.
Good to see Conlan was okay afterwards and credit to both boxers.
Surely a rematch would be a big sell with fight fans?
Maybe part two in a small place in the world, known as, well, the place where the best boxing fans in the world reside.
In one specific, particular part of Ireland.
Where?
Belfast.
Certainly it would sell out and be a big draw.
Great fight.
