The new generation in and around welterweight have arrived in terms of boxing’s new stars.
Ryan Garcia and Teofimo Lopez are certainly two of them and the latter now wants a fight with the former.
Speaking to the Punsh Drunk Boxing Podcast Lopez said:
‘We even said to Ryan and his team that we can do something in September or December. It doesn’t necessarily have to be in my weight class. We can do a catch weight so we don’t necessarily have to have any problems moving forward.’
Since Garcia’s big win over Haney many fighters have been calling him out.
It is safe to say Garcia and Gervonta Davis are the two biggest new American name stars in boxing.
A rematch between the two could well happen at some point in the future too.
