Andy Ruiz on Canelo vs Munguia: The Inside Scoop

Former heavyweight champion, Mexico’s first heavyweight champion of all time, Andy Ruiz continues his comeback trail in recent years.

He’s in Vegas for the big Cinco De Mayo boxing weekend involving Canelo and Munguia and is a keen fan this weekend.

Speaking in a press scrum in Las Vegas Ruiz said:

‘I think that fight is going to be good. I know Canelo is going to win. I think he is going to counter punch Munguia a load of times. Like I said though, you can’t underestimate no fighter. You can’t underestimate Munguia. He’s a Mexican. He’s a warrior. He takes a lot of punishment. He can take a punch and he’s young. He’s hungry too. I feel it is going to be an exciting fight.‘

Ruiz has beaten both Chris Arreola and Luiz Ortiz in recent years.

His next fight is on August 3rd against Jarrell Miller.
