Prince Naseem son Aadam Hamed made his debut in the pro ranks in impressive fashion in 2023 and in many ways, comes across as a chip off the old block as regards his father.
With his father as a supporter, and Hall of Famer Frank Warren promoting him, he promises much as a talent that is developing.
Speaking earlier at a press conference today in the UK, he said he wants to be his own man and not lean on his father’s name too much:
‘I want to be respected as Aadam Hammed rather than being respected for Nas’s boy, and make my own legacy and be my own man. I think I am on the right path. I graft everyday like it’s my last and sooner or later you are going to find out.’
On the Usyk vs Dubois undercard for his debut last August, nerves never came he mentioned:
‘I actually said I was waiting for them to kick in. I thought maybe when I see the crowd and the rest of the lights, they will kick in. But it never did. I actually felt very, very confident walking down there. I was buzzing. I just could not wait to get in there and prove to myself and to others what I’ve been doing in the gym.’
He won the fight by TKO in Poland last August.
This year promises much next up.
