Dmitry Bivol has cleared up some conjecture and speculation regarding his fight contract with fellow pound for pound boxer Beterbiev.

Dmitry Bivol vs Beterbiev is on hold for now. Injury to the latter, sadly.

What a fight it will be though. The fight will happen at some point.

Some back and forth has gone on since the fight fell out for now. Speaking to Michelle Phelps of Title Sports Network, Bivol put the record straight:

“I still believe that it will happen. I know he also wants this fight. I’m sure he will heal himself and we will have this fight I believe.”

He later added there is no rematch clause:

“We didn’t sign the option for the rematch.”

A rarity in today’s times.

Where it seems every major fight has a rematch clause.

A lot of times things can be scrapped in contracts and fighters paid step aside money.

To take certain fights or to not take certain fights.

It all depends on what the two fighters want to do.

Eventually this fight will happen.

It will be one of the best fights of the modern era when it does.
