The timing and ability involved in this pad work from Floyd Mayweather is on a level surely never seen before in boxing.
Floyd Mayweather was and is one of the great technicians in boxing.
The level his mind operates in the sweet science when matching defense and timing is surely unrivalled.
This at 47-years-old is quite incredible:
There are world champions currently in their 20s and 30s that would love to even get near that.
But couldn’t.
Floyd Mayweather is currently retired from the sport of boxing as an active professional now.
He does the odd exhibition here and there.
As for a real professional fight, it is unlikely he’ll ever get back to that.
He’s made plenty of money and doesn’t need boxing with interests and businesses outside of the sport.
His one time protégé Gervonta Davis returns to action this weekend.
A fairly impressive pad routine he also possesses too.
But when it comes to pad work surely of this generation there is nothing that compares to the above.
A masterclass is right.
The way he’s not even looking at the pads half the time and simply knows where the punches are is truly outstanding.
There is not a single fighter in the world who can do some of that stuff.
Never mind a retired 47-year prizefighter.
