The bad blood between Oscar De La Hoya and Canelo Alvarez goes to a new level in stunning tirade from the promoter and former world champion.
The two clearly don’t get along anymore.
That much is self-evident here as De La Hoya really goes in on Canelo:
There’s a lot to unravel there.
De La Hoya is really taking things to the next level.
What Alvarez’ retort will be will be interesting.
Fight fans do want to see Canelo take on David Benavidez though.
That is a fact.
But to claim Alvarez is ducking him seems far fetched to say the least.
Just look at Alvarez’ resume.
He’s moved up crazy weights to take on huge challenges.
He even boxed Floyd Mayweather when he was very young in his professional career.
Alvarez is not scared of anyone in truth.
Benavidez actually returns to action this weekend.
On the Gervonta Davis undercard.
A fight that Alvarez will surely be keeping a keen eye on.
Prior to all this both Alvarez and De La Hoya had spent a large number of years working together quite successfully.
Alvarez’ star expanded when with De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions initially to where it is today.
However as is often the case in big time boxing, once a fighter gets as popular as Alvarez, they inevitably look to go out on their own later in their careers.
It happens with most big time world championship level boxing stars quite often.
