Watch: 45-Year-Old Manny Pacquiao Back In Boxing Training

45-Year-Old Manny Pacquiao Back In Boxing Training

Pacquiao has a real three-round fight next month in Japan where he says he is allowed to, and will be, going for the knockout.

He takes on a kickboxing and MMA champion in RIZIN twenty years younger than him at 25 however.

Now, 45, Pacquiao is back in boxing training with old coach Buboy too:

Still a lot of speed of hand and foot there. No doubt. Pacquiao as he got older looked after himself more than in his younger days.

Next month in Japan on July 28th should he win is expected to set up a big professional boxing match by the end of the year.

Opponent is to be decided but there is one front runner so far.

Pacquiao vs. Barrios: Can the “Pacman” Still Bite in Fall 2024?

Manny Pacquiao, the legendary Filipino boxer and senator, has been teasing a potential comeback fight against Mario Barrios in the fall of 2024.

Even at his advanced age of 45, Pacquiao’s unwavering fighting spirit and enduring popularity have kept fans clamoring for more.

However, the question remains: can Pacquiao’s remaining skills and experience overcome the younger, more agile Barrios?

Pacquiao’s Enduring Strengths

  • Experience: Pacquiao’s extensive career and world titles across multiple weight divisions provide him with a wealth of knowledge and adaptability in the ring.
  • Speed and Power: Despite his age, Pacquiao has demonstrated remarkable speed in recent footage earlier this year here — maintaining his ability to outmaneuver and overwhelm opponents.
  • Footwork and Angles: Pacquiao’s signature footwork and ability to create unique angles of attack remain a potent weapon in his arsenal.

Challenges of Age and Barrios’ Style

  • Age-Related Decline: Naturally, Pacquiao’s reflexes and stamina may have diminished with age, potentially affecting his ability to sustain a high-paced fight.
  • Barrios’ Aggression: Barrios, known for his aggressive style and relentless pressure, could pose a significant challenge to Pacquiao, especially in the later rounds.
  • Size Difference: Barrios’ larger frame and reach advantage may give him an edge in landing power punches and controlling the distance.

A Close Contest

While Pacquiao’s age and Barrios’ style present undeniable challenges, the Filipino icon’s enduring strengths, experience, and unwavering determination cannot be underestimated.

The fight has the potential to be a closely contested affair, with both fighters showcasing their unique skills and strategies.

Ultimately, the outcome may depend on Pacquiao’s ability to maintain his speed and power throughout the fight, effectively counter Barrios’ aggression, and capitalize on his experience and ring intelligence.

The fight promises to be a thrilling spectacle, regardless of the final result, as fans witness a legendary champion facing a formidable young contender.

Pacquiao’s gas tank has never been a worry in his career however. Roll on next month first up.
