floyd mayweather bitterly releases full gervonta davis vs devin haney sparring footage after tank's martin win

Floyd Mayweather, ever the interesting character, has released some less than flattering sparring footage of Gervonta Davis after Martin win.

Mayweather’s Jab: A Calculated Move or Petty Retaliation?

Davis knocked out Martin impressively this weekend. Mayweather can be seen on here almost coaching Devin Haney in sparring footage he released after the fight this weekend:

Interesting.

Mayweather and Davis have split as promoter and fighter in recent years. Mayweather clearly envious of Davis’ success again this weekend.

As Davis launched the sport of boxing on Amazon Prime categorically successfully with his big knockout win over Frank Martin.

As for the above, Davis clearly out of fight shape not in training camp whereas Haney was in fight shape and still could not do anything with much smaller, skilful Davis.

Davis’ devastating knockout did most of the talking this weekend, alas. As for Floyd, what’s up with him?

A Surprise Release

Following Gervonta “Tank” Davis’s dominant knockout victory over Frank Martin, boxing fans were surprised by the release of sparring footage featuring Davis and Devin Haney, overall.

The footage, which was released by Floyd Mayweather, Davis’s former mentor and promoter, showed a younger Haney and Davis some time ago.

Questionable Motives

The timing of the release, immediately after Davis’s significant win, raised questions about Mayweather’s motives.

Some speculated that the move was a petty attempt by Mayweather to tarnish Davis’s moment in the spotlight and undermine his recent success.

A Strained Relationship

The relationship between Mayweather and Davis has been complex, marked by both mentorship and tension.

After parting ways with Mayweather Promotions, Davis has enjoyed continued success, while Mayweather has struggled to find another fighter to match Davis’s star power. Mayweather lost Davis and Leonard Ellerbe no less, Mayweather the promoter has been nothing like Mayweather the boxer so far.

Maybe Richard Schaefer can save what is left of Mayweather Promotions.

A Calculated Hype Strategy?

While the release of the sparring footage could be seen as a bitter act, it could also be interpreted as a calculated move by Mayweather to generate hype for himself and his promotional company.

Particularly after announcing the new partnership with former Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer. Expect Mayweather to make a lot of noise over the next month.

The Fallout and Future Implications

Regardless of Mayweather’s intentions, the release of the sparring footage has undoubtedly sparked controversy and added another layer of complexity to the already intriguing dynamics of the boxing world.

It remains to be seen how this episode will affect the careers of Davis and Haney, as well as the future of Mayweather’s promotional endeavors. Davis’ career seems to be doing just fine without Mayweather.

A Reminder of Boxing’s Intrigue

The leaked footage serves as a reminder of the power of personal relationships and rivalries in shaping the narrative of boxing.

It also highlights the ever-present potential for unexpected twists and turns in a sport that thrives on drama both inside and outside the ring.

While the above may have surprised many, its a typical Mayweather and boxing move really in the interesting world of boxing.
