Manny Pacquiao fights in a real three round fight next month in Japan in a possible warm up for a big fight later this year.
Some news has come that likely will make the fight a go now.
If it happens it will in fact now be for the WBC welterweight title.
The news came after Barrios was upgraded from interim champion to full WBC welterweight champion.
Terence Crawford has been made champion in recess by the WBC.
This now makes a possible fight for Pacquiao a motivator for ‘PacMan’ who would bid to become world champion at the age of 45 most likely.
Pacquiao of course has his own promotional company too to help stage the fight.
Pacquiao has worked with the WBC for years so provided Pacquiao gets rid of the RIZIN Kickboxing and MMA champion next month, it looks likely.
Pacquiao is chasing achievements at this stage and big fights.
A world title at 45 would represent a huge accomplishment if it happens.
Don’t be surprised if some sort of Pacquiao boxing rules match with one Conor McGregor comes down the road in 2025.
A big interest generator given the two’s names.
Big names in the world of boxing and combat sports.
First thing is first for Pacquiao though, next month in Japan.
Pacquiao has stressed it is a real fight and will take place in three genuine boxing rounds where he will be going for the knockout.
His opponent does have a lot of success in MMA and kickboxing in Japan too.
And is twenty years younger than Pacquiao no less.
Pacquiao needs to keep his eye on the ball and make sure he does not get caught cold or slipping in the fight.
A knockout loss at his age is possible and that would be the end of Pacquiao’s boxing career.
As regulators would likely struggle to sanction his fights moving forward given his age.
The ball is in Pacquiao’s court now. He has the wheel.
