Two of professional combat sports biggest figures, one from the East the other from the West, continue to quietly make moves behind the scenes.
Turki Alalshikh and Saudi Arabia have undeniably changed the face of boxing worldwide in recent years.
Not only injecting fresh capital into the sport on a level before never seen, but crucially, putting on the best fights where the best boxers are now finally fighting the best.
Much more regularly than before.
A play taken straight out of the UFC and mixed martial arts by America’s Dana White on route to building the UFC to where it is today.
His excellency Turki met White again this time in Saudi Arabia saying:
“With my brother Dana White.”
“I think this is the beginning of a big relationship between the UFC and Saudi Arabia. We want to go more and more now. We discussed a lot about China and about a lot of things. As a Riyadh season to sponsor. We want to see the Brazil, Syria, as we decide.”
Ending:
“We have a lot of surprises in the future.”
We thought something like this might happen recently.
We talked about it on here and alas, it is happening, meetings between these two.
White presenting Turki with his renowned belt and surely more boxing discussed.
If White wants to get more into boxing than just promoting Callum Walsh fights than this is indeed the right way to go.
What a partnership this would be.
Not only for the UFC and MMA but for boxing too.
White would be a great addition into the mix in the world of boxing in addition to his promoting Callum Walsh fights on UFC Fight Pass.
White’s UFC microphone and platforms will work nicely with all the other platforms to continue to grow boxing as the sport booms in the years ahead.
White knows about putting on the best fights and so does Turki above.
Surely further good news for the sport of boxing.
