Ryan Garcia: The Hood Knows I Won (Against Haney)

Ryan Garcia The Hood Knows I Won

Ryan Garcia might be going through the worst part of his boxing career at the moment but his spirits clearly remain high.

Coming off one of the biggest career wins should have made this the best time of Garcia’s life.

Beating Devin Haney, considered at the time one of the best young fighters in the world, should have catapulted Garcia into a Gervonta Davis rematch or another big fight.

But it didn’t.

A failed post-fight drugs test, despite tiny trace amounts for what he failed on, was the beginning of some woes.

Then having to give Haney back $1.5 million for missing weight was compounded by then being given a 1 year ban from boxing from the NY Commission.

Then the Commission fined Garcia $10,000 and made him give up another $1 million he made on fight day.

Not to mention Garcia will be down at least two pay days for the 1 year ban worth a combined potential twenty to thirty million dollars.

Despite all this Garcia said on X:

“The hood knows I won.”

Claiming some sort of moral victory.

A post that generated over 1 million views on X.

What Garcia we think is trying to say here is many boxing fans believe his still holds the win over Haney.

Despite the fight being changed to a no contest.

And Haney’s undefeated record being returned to him.

The fact of the matter is Garcia must now get himself together and be sensible about the year off ahead.

Not just blow all his cash at casinos and poker tables and drink like a fish.

If he’s smart he’ll take some time out of social media and the spotlight soon.

To re-evaluate quietly all the potential and promise he still has.

He’s still very young even in boxing terms.

And can come back stronger.

He could use the time off the work on his game in the boxing gym.

In terms of skills to improve on and come back even better in 2025.
