Watch: Teofimo Lopez Lands Some Clean Uppercuts On Canadian Journeyman In Fight Fans Did Not Want

Teofimo Lopez failed to impress in many aspects in his latest fight this weekend against an opponent who frankly no one had heard of.

Lopez by right should have been getting the guy out of there in one or two rounds.

Instead he was taken the distance in Miami but did show some good moments of clear work at times:

The performance from Lopez just was not good enough to be talking of putting him in there with pound for pound contenders.

Lopez won a unanimous decision on the night to defend his WBO super-lightweight title.

In what was very poor matchmaking from Top Rank. It was pathetic no less.

ESPN understandably will lose interest in showing boxing if this is the best they can come up with for Lopez.

Lopez needs better competition moving forward.

Some fighters need big things to get out of bed in the morning to study, work or train.

With the greatest of respect to Steve Claggett, he just was not it for Lopez.

Just not enough.

Nor for boxing fans who did not call for this low level or low calibre of match up.

An insult to boxing fans.
