Never has such strong words or an action being taken by boxing’s biggest governing body but their reasons here are correct.
Ryan Garcia is out of control lately. It doesn’t take a genius to see that.
Now, the WBC President after seeing what can only be described as a disgusting racist tirade from Garcia, have removed him from the organization saying on X:
“Exercising my authority as president of the WBC , I am hereby expelling Ryan Garcia from any activity with our organization. We reject any form of discrimination. I fear for Ryan well being as he has declined multiple attempts for our help with mental health and substance abuse.”
Garcia knows a professional boxing career is short.
But as a man, so are your twenties and thirties. Make the most of your prime years. Make the most of them. Take some time away from boxing if has to even from training.
Take up a new sport’s training for a year. Swimming. Anything to keep away from destructive alcohol or substances.
Just because Garcia is banned from boxing for a year due to his failed drugs test against Devin Haney does not mean he has to self destruct.
The WBC have always stood by him but someone needs to get him into some sort of help if he continues his spiral of all kinds at the moment.
